Business
SCOR SE is a global tier 1 reinsurance company headquartered in Paris, France, founded in 1970. The company provides a comprehensive range of reinsurance products and services through its main business segments: SCOR Global P&C and SCOR Global Life. The SCOR Global P&C segment offers property and casualty reinsurance including coverage for property, motors, casualty treaties, credit and surety, decennial insurance, aviation, marine and energy, engineering, agricultural risks, and property catastrophes. It also includes specialty insurance products such as business solutions, political and credit risks, cyber risks, and environmental liability. The SCOR Global Life segment delivers life and health reinsurance products covering mortality, morbidity, behavioral risks, disability, long-term care, critical illness, medical, and personal accident risks. It also provides innovative financial solutions combining traditional life reinsurance with financial components aimed at improving liquidity, balance sheet, solvency, and income for clients, as well as longevity risk protection for insurers and pension funds. Additionally, SCOR operates an asset management business through SCOR Global Investments. Recent major changes include the acceleration of its Forward 2026 strategic plan with a focus on shifting business mix towards more capital-efficient and higher-margin products, particularly in longevity and financial solutions within Life & Health reinsurance. SCOR has also enhanced its governance on in-force portfolio management to protect and optimize existing business value. In 2024, SCOR expanded its third-party capital relationships by adding three new risk partners and increasing capacity arrangements with existing partners by 20%, reinforcing its Risk Partnerships business. The company also continues investments in innovation and technology to improve underwriting efficiency and has launched new products tailored to evolving market needs, including climate-related risk products and solutions tailored for small and medium enterprises. SCOR maintains a disciplined underwriting approach and diversified operations across over 160 countries worldwide. SCOR SE’s main subsidiaries include SCOR Investment Partners SE, which manages investment advisory services and strategies in loans, credit, convertible bonds, and insurance-linked securities. The company serves a broad range of clients globally, including insurers, reinsurers, and specialized financial institutions. This comprehensive product offering and recent strategic initiatives position SCOR SE as a robust player in the global reinsurance market with a focus on innovation, risk partnerships, and sustainable growth.
