- Stroud Resources Ltd. is a Toronto, Canada-headquartered mineral exploration company incorporated in 1983 that acquires, explores and develops precious-metal properties, principally silver and gold assets in Mexico and Canada. The Company’s primary asset is its effective 100%-owned Santo Domingo Silver-Gold Project, comprising the Santo Domingo II and Nombre de Dios mining concessions and associated mineral and surface rights in the Hostotipaquillo area of Jalisco State, Mexico, approximately 80 kilometers northwest of Guadalajara. Through its wholly owned Mexican subsidiary, Compañía Minera San Diego y La Española S.A. de C.V., Stroud holds the exploration permits and mineral-concession rights for its Mexican properties. Its activities include geological mapping, sampling, drilling, resource delineation, metallurgical evaluation and development-stage technical work targeting epithermal silver-gold mineralization. The Company also holds a 0.5% net smelter returns royalty on properties in Hislop Township, Ontario; a 1.0% royalty interest in the Leckie Gold project; and a 3.75% interest in six producing oil and gas properties in central Alberta, Canada. Stroud operates primarily through its Mineral Exploration and Oil and Gas Interest segments and trades on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol SDR. In August 2026, Stroud and Silver Hammer Mining Corp. announced an updated NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate for Santo Domingo, effective August 21, 2026, reporting measured and indicated resources of 5.7 million tonnes grading 79 grams per tonne silver and 0.42 grams per tonne gold, containing 14.3 million ounces of silver and 76,000 ounces of gold, and inferred resources of 3.9 million tonnes grading 66 grams per tonne silver and 0.31 grams per tonne gold, containing 8.3 million ounces of silver and 36,000 ounces of gold. In July 2026, Stroud entered into a definitive arm’s-length business combination agreement with Silver Hammer Mining Corp. and a Silver Hammer subsidiary under which Silver Hammer proposes to acquire all outstanding Stroud common shares through a three-cornered amalgamation; the transaction, which is subject to shareholder, regulatory and other customary approvals, is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
