- SVB Financial Group, formerly a diversified financial services holding company, provided a range of banking and financial solutions to the innovation economy, with a historical focus on technology, life science, healthcare, and venture capital sectors. Before its restructuring, the company's operations included commercial banking through Silicon Valley Bank, private banking and wealth advisory via SVB Private, investment banking under SVB Securities, and venture capital investing through SVB Capital. The company faced significant challenges in March 2023 when its primary banking subsidiary, Silicon Valley Bank, failed and was placed into receivership by the FDIC. The remaining equity research business, MoffettNathanson LLC, was reorganized under a new holding company, MNSN Holdings Inc., with its equity distributed to qualified creditors. The entity now primarily focuses on the orderly resolution of its affairs and the maximization of value for its stakeholders through the Liquidating Trust.
