Business
Siemens Energy AG, a leading provider of technologies for the energy transition, offers products, solutions and services across the energy value chain, including gas turbines, steam turbines, generators and transformers for power generation; high-voltage systems and grid technologies for transmission and distribution; and comprehensive service offerings for maintenance, modernization and decarbonization of power plants and industrial processes. The company operates in Gas Services, Grid Technologies and Siemens Gamesa renewable energy segments, serving utilities, independent power producers, oil and gas firms, industrial customers and governments worldwide, with key activities in Europe, North America, Asia and emerging markets. Founded in 1866 and headquartered in Munich, Germany, Siemens Energy focuses on low- and net-zero emission solutions such as hydrogen-ready turbines and electrolyzers to support sustainable energy systems. Recent developments include major investments of up to €2 billion in production capacity, notably €220 million to expand its Nuremberg transformer factory by 50% with operations starting in 2028; divestitures such as the power electronics business to ABB in December 2024 and 90% of its wind operations in India and Sri Lanka to TPG-led investors in March 2025; replacement of an €11 billion guarantee facility with a €9 billion version enabling dividends from 2025; a letter of intent with Fermi America for 1.1 GW of nuclear-integrated turbines and steam systems; a supply agreement for ten gas turbines to Xcel Energy adding 2,088 MW of dispatchable capacity; and a partnership with STRABAG for one of Europe's largest 140 MW electrolyzer plants at OMV's refinery in Austria. In fiscal year 2025, the company reports record order backlog of €138 billion, net income of €1.685 billion and proposes a €0.70 per share dividend, reflecting strong demand in gas services and grid technologies.
