Business
Siemens Aktiengesellschaft is a global technology company that provides automation, digitalization, electrification, and mobility solutions across industrial, infrastructure, transportation, and healthcare-related markets. Founded in 1847 and headquartered in Munich, Germany, the company operates worldwide across Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Australia, serving industrial customers, utilities, transportation operators, building owners, and public-sector clients. Its principal businesses are organized through Digital Industries, Smart Infrastructure, Mobility, Siemens Healthineers, and Siemens Financial Services. Digital Industries supplies factory automation, industrial software, digital twin, simulation, industrial AI, and related lifecycle services; Smart Infrastructure offers electrical products, grid and building technologies, low- and medium-voltage systems, and charging and energy-management solutions; Mobility provides rolling stock, rail automation, signaling, turnkey rail systems, maintenance, depot, and digital services; Siemens Healthineers is its healthcare subsidiary focused on medical imaging, diagnostics, and therapy-related technologies; and Siemens Financial Services provides financing and leasing solutions. In fiscal 2025 and into fiscal 2026, Siemens accelerated its industrial software and AI strategy through the acquisition of Altair Engineering, a provider of industrial simulation and analysis software, which was integrated into Digital Industries and expanded the Siemens Xcelerator platform, and it also acquired Dotmatics, a life-sciences R&D software provider, while raising its fiscal 2026 outlook after a strong first quarter. The company also reported portfolio actions including the sale of its U.S. Airport Logistics business and the exit from the wiring accessories business, alongside continued emphasis on electrification, digital services, and software-led growth.
