Business
Cellcom Israel Ltd. (TASE: CEL) is Israel's largest cellular provider and a leading telecommunications group offering a comprehensive range of wireless and fixed-line communications services nationwide. Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Netanya, the company serves millions of subscribers through its advanced 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, and 5G networks (shared with affiliates including Golan Telecom); core cellular offerings encompass telephony, international roaming, text and multimedia messaging, high-speed data plans, value-added services such as mobile office tools and data protection, and end-user equipment sales and repair from brands like Apple and Samsung. Beyond mobile, Cellcom provides fixed-line telephony via IPTel, internet infrastructure and broadband connectivity, over-the-top (OTT) television through Cellcom TV, international calling under the 013 service, conference calling, information security, cloud computing, server hosting, IoT solutions, and transmission services for business customers and operators; it also acts as a billing agency for electricity and operates retail stores, customer service centers, and an online self-service platform. The company operates primarily in Israel, including cellular and internet services in the West Bank and Golan Heights under licenses valid through 2032, with subsidiaries such as Golan Telecom, acquired in 2020 for NIS 545 million following regulatory approval that converted Golan's license to an MVNO model. Recent developments include a binding offer in August 2025 to purchase holdings in IBC Israel Broadband Company pending Competition Authority approval, agreements signed in 2025 by subsidiary Cellcom Energy for electricity purchases from photovoltaic projects totaling around 30 MW DC capacity with storage, the appointment of Eli Adadi as CEO in August 2024 succeeding Daniel Sapir, ongoing talks since 2023 toward private equity firm Fortissimo Capital acquiring a controlling 35.6% stake from Discount Investment Corp. at a NIS 2.6 billion enterprise valuation, and sustained network expansions in fiber-optic and 5G infrastructure.
