Business
Tenax Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: TENX) is a Phase 3 development-stage pharmaceutical company focused on developing novel therapies for cardiopulmonary diseases, particularly pulmonary hypertension associated with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (PH-HFpEF). The company develops TNX-103, an oral formulation of levosimendan that has completed Phase 2 trials for PH-HFpEF; TNX-201, an oral enteric-coated imatinib for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH); and earlier-stage candidates including TNX-101 and TNX-102 for related pulmonary hypertension indications. Founded in 1967 and headquartered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Tenax Therapeutics operates primarily in the United States with a small team of experts guiding its clinical programs targeting unmet needs in cardiovascular and pulmonary care. In August 2024, the company closed an oversubscribed $100 million private placement led by BVF Partners LP with participation from Venrock Healthcare Capital Partners, Vivo Capital, Janus Henderson Investors and others to fund the ongoing LEVEL Phase 3 trial of TNX-103 and initiate a second Phase 3 study in 2025, accelerating its path to NDA submission; this followed a $25 million private placement with RTW Investments in March 2025 to support clinical trials and operations.
