Business
Alamos Gold Inc. is a Canadian-based intermediate gold producer focused on the acquisition, exploration, development, and production of gold deposits primarily in North America; it operates three key mines including the Young-Davidson and Island Gold District in northern Ontario, Canada, and the Mulatos District in Sonora State, Mexico, producing gold dore bars and silver byproducts that are refined and sold on global commodity markets to refineries, financial institutions, central banks, investment markets, and industrial users. Founded in 2003 through the merger of Alamos Minerals Ltd. and National Gold Corporation and headquartered at Brookfield Place, 181 Bay Street, Suite 3910, Toronto, Ontario, the company employs over 2,400 people and maintains a diversified portfolio of growth projects such as the Phase 3+ Expansion at Island Gold and the Lynn Lake project in Manitoba, Canada. Alamos Gold targets stable, low-cost gold production with a commitment to sustainable development, environmental stewardship, and stakeholder value creation across its operations in Canada and Mexico. In a major strategic expansion completed in July 2024, Alamos Gold acquired Argonaut Gold Inc., integrating the adjacent Magino mine into its portfolio to form one of Canada's largest and lowest-cost gold mines, boosting combined annual production potential above 600,000 ounces with synergies from shared infrastructure estimated at $375 million in operating savings and $140 million in capital efficiencies, while Argonaut's U.S. and Mexican assets were spun out as Florida Canyon Gold Inc., in which Alamos holds a nearly 20% stake. The company achieved record production of 529,300 ounces in 2023 and generated $1.35 billion in revenue in 2024, reflecting 31.62% year-over-year growth driven by these operational enhancements and a focus on declining all-in sustaining costs.
