Earlier, it formed a joint venture with Thailand's President Foods Public Company Ltd. (Thai President Foods) to establish President Kourakuen Co Ltd., aimed at expanding Kourakuen ramen outlets across Thailand with plans for over 30 branches nationwide within five years; Thai President Foods holds 70% ownership and acquired Kourakuen's Thai production facilities to support the venture. Kourakuen continues to target 1,000 chain stores long-term through low-priced offerings and franchising.
