Business
Blue Moon Metals Inc. (TSXV: MOON) is a Canadian mineral exploration and development company focused on advancing brownfield polymetallic projects containing critical metals including zinc, copper, gold, silver, lead and by-products such as barite, gypsum and pyrite. Incorporated in 2007 and headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, the company holds 100% interest in the Blue Moon zinc-gold-silver-copper property comprising patented and unpatented lode mineral claims in Mariposa County, east-central California, United States; an interest in the Nussir copper-gold-silver project located in Finnmark county, northern Norway; and an interest in the Sulitjelma (NSG) copper-zinc-gold-silver project also in northern Norway. These sediment-hosted and volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) deposits benefit from existing regional infrastructure including roads, power, historical processing sites and proximity to ports and rail, targeting mining and industrial customers in North America and Europe. Core products and services encompass exploration, resource delineation, preliminary economic assessments, feasibility studies, underground development, permitting and eventual production of zinc, copper, gold, silver, lead concentrates and specialty industrial minerals from its advanced-stage brownfield assets, with the Blue Moon project featuring an updated March 2025 NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate of 3.65 million indicated tons at 13.46% zinc equivalent (436 million pounds zinc, 54 million pounds copper, 5.4 million ounces silver, 0.16 million ounces gold) plus 4.43 million inferred tons at 12.12% zinc equivalent, open at depth and along strike; Nussir offering a permitted underground copper-gold-silver mine with over $100 million in existing infrastructure targeting production by mid-2027; and NSG providing a historic high-grade VMS district with 50-100 million tons exploration potential and new resource estimates. In December 2024, Blue Moon closed a C$30 million brokered equity financing led by strategic investors Hartree Partners LP, Wheaton Precious Metals Corp. and Leonhard Nilsen & Sønner AS (LNS), which together subscribed for over 50% of the offering and implied an enterprise value of approximately US$100 million fully-diluted in-the-money; signed definitive agreements to acquire all shares of Nussir ASA and Nye Sulitjelma Gruver AS for US$67.3 million in equity and cash plus milestone payments; entered a long-term offtake agreement with Hartree for Nussir concentrates and a right of last offer for Blue Moon and NSG volumes; awarded LNS a mining contract for Nussir construction and operations plus additional share subscriptions tied to decline construction milestones; and completed the Norwegian acquisitions by end-February 2025 alongside appointing Skott Mealer as President and COO and Theodore Veligrakis as VP Exploration. Recent advancements include selection of Worley for an NI 43-101 feasibility study on Nussir targeting Q1 2026 with basic engineering; a mining contract for portal and exploration decline construction at Blue Moon commencing Q3-Q4 2025; US permitting milestones for underground exploration at Blue Moon; OTCQX uplisting under BMOOF; a maiden PEA for Blue Moon released post-acquisitions; and new NSG resource estimates, positioning the company for optimized recoveries of 85-95% across key metals with potential annual cash flows of $200-250 million by decade-end.
