Business
Niobay Metals Inc. (TSX-V: NBY; OTCQB: NBYCF) is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused on the acquisition, exploration, and development of properties containing critical and strategic minerals, primarily niobium and tantalum; it also targets titanium and phosphate deposits. The company holds a 100% interest in the James Bay Niobium Project, covering 8,833 hectares in the James Bay Lowlands of northeastern Ontario; a 72.5% interest in the Crevier Niobium and Tantalum Project, spanning 4,645 hectares north of Girardville in Quebec's Lac Saint-Jean region; and an option to acquire an 80% interest in the Foothills Titanium-Phosphate Project, comprising approximately 285 square kilometers near the former St-Urbain mine site in Quebec. Incorporated in 1954 and headquartered at 1100 Avenue des Canadiens-de-Montréal, Suite 300, in Montreal, Quebec, Niobay operates exclusively in Canada, emphasizing low-carbon mining practices, environmental sustainability, Indigenous community engagement, and partnerships with universities and research institutions for research and development in green minerals. Recent advancements include the commencement in June 2025 of first niobium and tantalum oxide product deliveries from the SGS pilot plant in Québec City to potential European customers and partners, supported by a grant from Quebec's Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts under the Critical and Strategic Minerals program; a 56% improvement in concentrate content achieved in October 2025 metallurgical testing compared to historical results at Crevier, with plans for a second pilot processing 145 tonnes of 2025 field ore; and the receipt in October 2025 of a three-year exploration permit for James Bay Niobium, enabling resumption of drilling under modified water management protocols in coordination with Moose Cree First Nation, alongside an existing mining lease valid until 2028.
