Business
Canstar Resources Inc. (TSXV: ROX) is a Canada-based exploration company focused on acquiring, exploring and developing mineral properties rich in critical minerals and gold, primarily in Newfoundland. The company targets volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) and orogenic gold deposits, exploring for zinc, copper, lead, silver, gold and antimony; its flagship 100%-owned Golden Baie Project spans 489.5 square kilometres across 38 mineral exploration licenses in south-central Newfoundland's Coast of Bays region, featuring high-grade gold and antimony showings along a major mineralized structure; the Buchans-Mary March projects cover 138.5 square kilometres adjacent to the historic Buchans mining camp, including the western Buchans Property (1,600 hectares across 64 claims) and eastern Mary March Property (10,450 hectares across 418 claims), with potential for high-grade polymetallic VMS deposits; and the Hermitage Property comprises 3,225 hectares across 129 claims in southern Newfoundland. Canstar Resources maintains operations exclusively in Canada, headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, with exploration activities centred in Newfoundland's emerging critical minerals district. In April 2025, the company executed a letter of intent for a $11.5 million strategic joint venture with VMS Mining Corporation, including an initial $500,000 payment received in May 2025 to fund Phase 1 exploration valued at $1.5 million for a 10% interest, escalating to potential 60% ownership through subsequent phases; it also signed a related letter of intent with Khosla Ventures-backed TerraAI in June 2025 to integrate artificial intelligence for target generation and drill optimization at the Buchans and Mary March projects; and in October 2025, Canstar closed an oversubscribed hard dollar financing to strengthen its balance sheet ahead of expanded 2026 exploration programs.
