Business
Veritex Holdings, Inc. functions as the parent entity for Veritex Community Bank, delivering a diverse array of financial solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises, professionals, and individual clients. The organization, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, was incorporated in 2009, with its banking subsidiary, Veritex Community Bank, initially established in 2004. Its comprehensive suite of deposit products includes demand, savings, money market, and various time accounts, such as certificates of deposit and IRAs. Lending offerings encompass commercial real estate and general commercial loans, including term financing and lines of credit, alongside mortgage warehouse loans, residential and multi-family real estate, construction and land development, agricultural, and consumer loans. Furthermore, the bank provides specialized financing solutions for specific industries like homeowners' associations and dental practices, alongside purchased receivables financing. Beyond traditional banking, Veritex extends its services to include interest rate swap arrangements and a full spectrum of digital banking capabilities. These comprise secure access to account balances, online funds transfers, electronic bill payments, digital customer statements, and mobile banking applications, supplemented by a network of ATMs. Additional services feature debit cards, night deposit facilities, direct payroll deposits, cashier's checks, and letters of credit. Treasury management services are also a key offering, providing advanced tools like balance reporting, wire transfer initiation, automated clearinghouse origination, and stop payments. Cash management deposit products are available, including lockbox services, remote deposit capture, positive pay, reverse positive pay, detailed account reconciliation, zero balance accounts, and sweep accounts. The bank maintains a robust presence across Texas, operating over 30 full-service branches primarily within the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston metropolitan areas, with a recent expansion in Dallas's Cedar Crest community in March 2024. In a significant strategic development, Veritex Holdings, Inc. announced in July 2025 that it will be acquired by Huntington Bancshares Incorporated in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $1.9 billion. The merger, which received all necessary regulatory approvals by October 2025, is anticipated to finalize in early Q4 2025, at which point Veritex Community Bank will integrate into The Huntington National Bank, adopting the Huntington Bank brand and operations.
