Western Alliance Bancorporation (NYSE: WAL) is a bank holding company providing deposit, lending, treasury management, international banking, and online banking products and services through its primary subsidiary Western Alliance Bank and other specialized brands including Alliance Association Bank, Alliance Bank of Arizona, Bank of Nevada, Bridge Bank, First Independent Bank, Torrey Pines Bank, and AmeriHome Mortgage; core offerings encompass commercial and industrial loans, real estate loans, consumer loans, checking and savings accounts, money market accounts, fixed-rate certificates of deposit, cash management solutions, trust administration, equipment leasing, escrow services, and industry-tailored financing for sectors such as technology, innovation, public and nonprofit entities, hotel franchise finance, and homeowners associations. The company operates nationwide with a local touch in key markets across Arizona, California, Nevada, and other states, serving commercial businesses, real estate investors, financial institutions, high-net-worth individuals, and small to mid-sized enterprises. Founded in 1994 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Western Alliance Bancorporation maintains assets exceeding $86 billion as of mid-2025 and ranks among the top-performing U.S. banks. Western Alliance Bancorporation recently unified its six legacy division bank brands under the single Western Alliance Bank brand by the end of 2025 to streamline operations, enhance national marketing reach, and improve client access to integrated services nationwide; the company continues strong growth with $1.2 billion in held-for-investment loan expansion in Q2 2025 driven by commercial and industrial lending, alongside targeted deposit increases in digital asset banking and technology sectors totaling nearly $1 billion year-to-date. In Q3 2025, it reported net income of $260.5 million, up from the prior quarter, supported by a $300 million share repurchase program under which it bought back over 300,000 shares for $25 million through mid-October, and issued preferred stock via its REIT subsidiary to bolster equity. Additional strategic moves include appointing Brad Alvarez in November 2025 to lead sponsor and strategic partnerships for Business Escrow Services and entering a strategic alliance with Clover Lending Group in October 2025 to expand financing for active adult communities, while reiterating 2025 guidance for $5 billion in loan growth and $8 billion in deposit growth.
