Business
Xerium Technologies, Inc. (XRM) manufactures and supplies industrial consumable products and services for the pulp and paper industry, operating through two segments: Machine Clothing and Roll Covers; headquartered in Youngsville, North Carolina, with manufacturing facilities worldwide including North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific; founded with roots tracing to 1811. The Machine Clothing segment produces forming fabrics used at the start of paper machines, press felts that carry paper sheets through high-pressure press rolls to remove water, dryer fabrics that transport sheets through drying sections, and other industrial textiles for pulp processing, nonwovens, fiber cement, tannery dewatering, and textiles; the Roll Covers segment manufactures, refurbishes, and replaces covers for suction rolls, lump breaker rolls, coater rolls, sizing rolls, calendar rolls, and conveying rolls, alongside mechanical maintenance services for roll mechanisms. Acquired by Andritz AG in a $833 million cash transaction completed in late 2018 and rebranded as ANDRITZ Fabrics and Rolls Inc. in May 2019, the company now functions as a subsidiary, integrating its technologies such as SMART roll monitoring, SmartRemote services, and TransForm forming fabrics into Andritz's broader pulp and paper portfolio.
