Business
Daimler Truck Holding AG manufactures and sells a comprehensive range of commercial vehicles worldwide, including light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks for long-distance, distribution and construction-site haulage; city and intercity buses, coaches and bus chassis; and specialized vehicles such as vocational trucks and school buses under brands including Freightliner, Western Star, Thomas Built Buses, Mercedes-Benz, FUSO, BharatBenz, RIZON, Setra and others. The company operates through five main segments: Trucks North America, Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Trucks Asia, Daimler Buses, and Financial Services, which provides financing, leasing, fleet management, investments and insurance brokerage tailored to commercial vehicle customers. Daimler Truck Holding AG maintains over 35 production locations across North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America, serving transportation, logistics, passenger transit and public service sectors, with headquarters in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany, and roots tracing to 1896. In recent developments, the company advances its Stronger 2030 strategy, targeting adjusted return on sales above 12% in its Industrial Business by 2030 through five pillars focused on growth, customer solutions, technological transformation, operational efficiency and performance culture; this includes the Cost Down Europe program to deliver over €1 billion in annual cost savings by 2030 via structural reductions, headcount optimization and standardized practices. Daimler Truck signed an agreement to integrate Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino Motors, forming a Japanese entity with over 40,000 employees for enhanced synergies and scale; launched a €2 billion share buyback program over two years starting in the second half of 2025; and opened a new Global Parts Center in Halberstadt, Germany, in July 2025 to improve spare parts supply for Mercedes-Benz Trucks customers in over 170 countries. Additional initiatives encompass expanding zero-emission vehicle deliveries to over 25,000 units annually in Europe by 2030, doubling defense sector revenues, growing vocational truck volumes in North America by over 60%, and entering new financial services markets like Poland in 2025 with planned expansions into Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
