(OTCQX: GBNY) serves as the holding company for Generations Bank, a New York-chartered community bank focused on retail and commercial banking services in the Finger Lakes region and surrounding areas of upstate New York; it offers deposit products including demand, NOW, money market, savings, and certificate of deposit accounts; provides one- to four-family residential real estate loans, home equity loans and lines of credit, consumer loans such as automobile, recreational vehicle, manufactured home, student, and other personal loans, commercial real estate loans, multi-family residential loans, commercial business loans, and residential and commercial construction loans; invests in U.S. government-sponsored mortgage-backed securities, corporate and municipal bonds from northeastern states and localities, and Federal Home Loan Bank stock; and delivers online and mobile banking platforms with features like bill pay, mobile check deposit, and digital statements, alongside insurance products through Generations Agency. Founded in 1870 as Seneca Falls Savings Bank and renamed Generations Bank in 2012, the company maintains its headquarters at 20 East Bayard Street in Seneca Falls, New York, with eight full-service branches and one drive-through facility in Auburn, Farmington, Geneva, Medina, Phelps, Union Springs, and Waterloo. In September 2024, Generations Bancorp NY, Inc. and Generations Bank entered a definitive purchase and assumption agreement with Rochester-based ESL Federal Credit Union for ESL to acquire substantially all assets and liabilities of Generations Bank in an all-cash transaction valued at $26.2 million; shareholders approved the agreement and a plan of liquidation in February 2025, followed by regulatory approvals from the OCC, FDIC, and NCUA throughout 2025, with closing scheduled for January 1, 2026, subject to customary conditions; the company also voluntarily delisted from Nasdaq and plans SEC deregistration as part of this strategic shift.
