- Binh Duong Water Environment Corporation Joint Stock Company (BIWASE) is a Vietnam-based utility enterprise primarily engaged in municipal and industrial water supply, waste treatment and recycling, wastewater collection and processing, and environmental engineering services. The company operates across multiple integrated business segments: Water Supply, comprising the raw water extraction, purification, transmission, and retail/wholesale distribution of clean potable water for residential households, commercial establishments, and manufacturing facilities across major industrial parks; the manufacturing and distribution of bottled and barreled purified drinking water and alkaline ionized water under the Biwase and Biwase Ion Gold brand names; Waste Treatment and Recycling, involving the collection, transportation, sorting, thermal incineration, composting, and landfill disposal of municipal, domestic, industrial, hazardous, and medical solid wastes; the production and commercialization of organic bio-fertilizers and bio-mineral fertilizers derived from recycled waste materials under the Con Voi (Elephant) brand; the generation and commercial distribution of electricity from waste-to-energy incineration facilities and landfill biogas recovery plants; Wastewater Treatment and Drainage, covering the operation and maintenance of urban and industrial drainage networks, centralized domestic wastewater treatment plants, and environmental laboratory testing services; and Environmental Construction and Related Products, encompassing the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of water supply pipelines, sewerage systems, and environmental treatment facilities, alongside the manufacturing of concrete sewer pipes, paving blocks, recycled plastic items, and related infrastructure materials.
Headquartered in Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province, Vietnam, BIWASE traces its operational origins to 1975 and was officially transformed into a joint stock corporation following its equitization. The company serves residential, commercial, administrative, and industrial end-markets throughout Binh Duong Province—one of Vietnam's primary industrial hubs—and has progressively extended its operational footprint into neighboring provinces and regional markets across Southern and Central Vietnam, including Long An, Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc, Vinh Long, Can Tho, and Quang Binh. BIWASE maintains several major water treatment plants—such as Di An, Tan Hiep, Thu Dau Mot, and Nam Tan Uyen—as well as the South Binh Duong Solid Waste Treatment Complex (Chanh Phu Hoa), one of the largest comprehensive integrated waste treatment and recycling facilities in the country.
In recent years, BIWASE has executed an aggressive merger and acquisition strategy to expand its operational footprint beyond Binh Duong Province, acquiring controlling and strategic equity stakes in regional water utilities including Long An Water Supply Sewerage Joint Stock Company (LAWASUCO), Can Giuoc Water Joint Stock Company, Chau Thanh Urban Environment Joint Stock Company, Gia Tan Water Supply Joint Stock Company in Dong Nai Province, and Quang Binh Water Supply Joint Stock Company. To optimize capital allocation and asset management across its regional holdings, the corporation has undertaken structural reorganizations, establishing specialized subsidiaries such as Biwase - Long An Joint Stock Company to manage regional utility assets. Furthermore, BIWASE has significantly scaled its environmental and renewable energy infrastructure through the commissioning and capacity expansion of its waste-to-energy power generation plants and organic fertilizer production lines at the South Binh Duong Waste Treatment Complex. To finance this capital expenditure program and support sustainability initiatives, the company has secured multi-million-dollar green credit packages and syndicated loans from international development institutions, including the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), alongside close operational collaboration with its major strategic partner and affiliate, Thu Dau Mot Water Joint Stock Company (TDM Water).
