Business
La Perla Fashion Holding N.V. designs, manufactures, and retails luxury lingerie, nightwear, beachwear, ready-to-wear products, and accessories under the La Perla brand. The company operates globally, primarily through its own and partner-operated boutiques, shop-in-shops in department stores, outlet stores, and various digital sales platforms including laperla.com. Its core product portfolio reflects exclusivity, combining creativity, innovation, style, and high-quality craftsmanship rooted in its "Made in Italy" heritage, with key production facilities located in Bologna, Italy. La Perla targets a luxury market segment worldwide, serving both women and men through wholesale and direct retail channels. Founded in 1954 and headquartered in the Netherlands, La Perla Fashion Holding functions through an integrated business model encompassing design, production, and sales. The company has approximately 971 employees and maintains a strong emphasis on revitalizing its brand by focusing on core and iconic products while expanding its retail network and digital presence. Recently, La Perla underwent significant ownership and operational changes. In 2025, La Perla was acquired by Luxury Holding LLC, controlled by American billionaire and former Expedia CEO Peter Kern. This acquisition included ownership of the brand and the Bologna production facility. The buyer committed to investing approximately €30 million by 2027 to support the brand's revitalization, maintain manufacturing in Italy, and prevent job losses. As part of the transition, all La Perla employees were rehired by La Perla Atelier, a company controlled by Luxury Holding, ensuring continuity of operations and safeguarding the company's industrial and employment future. Paolo Vannucchi returned as CEO to lead the renewed strategic direction under the new ownership. This marked a key strategic milestone to strengthen the brand’s luxury positioning and expand operational capabilities. La Perla continues to focus on modernizing and enhancing its product portfolio, expanding into high-growth markets, and bringing a digital mindset to consumer engagement and retail operations, aiming to broaden its customer base while preserving its iconic Italian luxury lingerie identity.
