Business
Hong Leong Industries Berhad, an investment holding company incorporated in 1964 and headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, engages primarily in the manufacture, assembly and distribution of motorcycles, scooters and related parts under the Yamaha brand through Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd; manufacturing and sale of ceramic tiles under the Guocera brand via Guocera Holdings Sdn Bhd; distribution, trading and after-sales services for marine-related products including outboard motors and spare parts through HLY Marine Sdn Bhd; and technology solutions via GenCode Sdn Bhd. The company operates in the automotive and building materials segments, serving consumer and industrial markets in Malaysia, Australia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan and other international destinations with a workforce of nearly 3,000 employees. As a subsidiary of Hong Leong Manufacturing Group Sdn Bhd and member of the broader Hong Leong Group conglomerate, it generates the majority of revenue from the Malaysian domestic market. Over the past six years, the group has transformed from a diversified industrial conglomerate into a focused consumer-centric business by exiting the low-margin fibre cement segment and venturing into automotive spare parts to leverage its strong motorcycle position; recent analyst upgrades reflect positive revenue forecasts for fiscal 2026 at RM3.9 billion with 7% growth, alongside sustained profit momentum driven by the gig economy and core brand emphasis.
