Dhunseri Tea & Industries Limited engages in the cultivation, manufacture, and sale of loose and packet tea in India and internationally; it also produces and sells macadamia nuts and provides business management and consultancy services. The company operates 11 tea estates and associated factories located across Assam, including Bahipookri Tea Estate, Bettybari Tea Estate, Dhunseri Tea Estate, Hatijan Tea Estate, Orang Tea Estate, Balijan (North) Tea Estate, Hapjan Tea Estate, Budlabeta Tea Estate, Deohall Tea Estate, Duamara Tea Estate, and Tara Tea Estate, spanning approximately 6,861 hectares of plantation area; offshore operations through wholly owned subsidiaries such as Makandi Tea & Coffee Estates Ltd., Kawalazi Estate Co. Founded in 1997 and headquartered at Dhunseri House, 4A Woodburn Park, Kolkata, India, the company sells tea via auctions at Kolkata and Guwahati, private sales through intermediaries, and bulk channels, targeting domestic and export markets while employing eco-friendly practices like integrated pest management, mechanized harvesting, soil nutrition mapping, rainwater harvesting, and organic supplements. Recent developments include the disposal of Dilli Tea Estate and closure of the Jaipur tea packaging factory during fiscal 2025 to rationalize operations and enhance profitability; Naga Dhunseri Group Limited increased its stake to 54.56% on March 10, 2025, making Dhunseri Tea & Industries its subsidiary; leadership changes encompass the appointment of Mayank Beriwala as Executive Director effective February 12, 2025, redesignation of Bharati Dhanuka to Vice Chairman, transition of CEO from P.C. Dhandhania to Pravir Murari on April 1, 2025, and reappointments of independent directors Aaradhana Jhunjhunwala and Siddhartha Rampuria; the board recommended a Re. 1.00 per share dividend for fiscal 2025, marking a return to payouts after a prior pause, amid improved tea realizations from quality upgrades and ongoing macadamia expansion efforts in Malawi.
