Business
SWCC Corporation (5805.T), formerly SWCC Showa Holdings Co., Ltd., manufactures and sells electric wires, power cables, and related energy infrastructure components primarily in Japan with international operations. Established in 1936 and headquartered in Kawasaki, Japan, the company operates through two main segments: Energy and Infrastructure, offering XLPE insulated power cables, bus systems, electric power transmission and distribution equipment including compact high-voltage connectors such as the SICONEX series, aluminum wires, bare wires, engineering services, seismic isolation devices, and vibration dampers; and Communication and Components, providing communication cables, optical fiber cables featuring rollable ribbon e-Ribbon for high-density data centers, optical parts, wire harnesses, precision devices, magnet wire, copper alloy wires, factory automation cables, automotive electric wires, and electronic components like semiconductor testing devices and copier parts; with additional logistics and new ventures in healthcare, networking, and factory automation. The company maintains production sites across Japan including Sagamihara, Mie, Sendai, and overseas subsidiaries in China, Vietnam, and Taiwan serving automotive, telecommunications, industrial equipment, and power sectors. In April 2023, SWCC Showa Holdings absorbed SWCC Showa Cable Systems in a merger and rebranded to SWCC Corporation to streamline operations; it continues advancing its Medium-Term Management Plan "Change & Growth SWCC 2026" with a 2024 rolling plan emphasizing expanded R&D investment, human capital development, ROIC-oriented cash flow generation, and new business initiatives like the Smart Stream platform alongside overseas expansion via local production models in China and joint ventures. In November 2025, the company resolved to fully acquire shares in a joint venture, terminating the partnership to consolidate control over key operations.
