- Al Mahhar Holding Company Q.P.S.C. is a Qatar-based diversified industrial holding company engaged in the provision of specialized engineered products, equipment rentals, and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) services to the energy and infrastructure sectors. Established in 1989 through its foundation operating subsidiary, Petroleum Technology Company W.L.L. (Petrotec), and incorporated as a holding company in 2014, the company is headquartered in Doha, Qatar, and conducts operations across Qatar and Kuwait. The group structures its operations into two primary business segments: Energy and Infrastructure.
Within the Energy segment, the company supplies mechanical, rotating, static, instrumentation, and drilling equipment from international original equipment manufacturers (OEM); provides comprehensive asset lifecycle support, including pre-commissioning, commissioning, plant shutdown maintenance, equipment overhaul, retrofits, and emergency repair services; manufactures electrical control panels, switchgear, and automation systems at its specialized domestic facilities; assembles explosion-proof electrical products in partnership with global manufacturers; and delivers precision calibration, turbine maintenance, and chemical cleaning services to upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas operators and petrochemical complexes. Within the Infrastructure segment, primarily managed through subsidiaries including Qatar Welding and Fabrication Supplies W.L.L. (QFAB), the company distributes heavy machinery, construction equipment, and specialized fabrication tools representing global brands; sells and rents power generation systems, including diesel generators, mobile lighting towers, and industrial air compressors; delivers ground engineering, dewatering, and specialized water management solutions; and supplies engineered modular process packages, process skids, and industrial consumables.
In recent developments, Al Mahhar Holding completed its public listing on the Qatar Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol MHAR. The company has advanced strategic inorganic and organic expansion initiatives to capitalize on major national projects, including Qatar's North Field Expansion, evaluating strategic acquisitions to consolidate minority interests in subsidiaries such as European Equipment Company LLC and acquire local industrial automation and process control enterprises through Petrotec. Operationally, the group has expanded its localized manufacturing, system integration, and fabrication capacity across its Birkat Al Awamer and Ras Laffan hubs while diversifying its capabilities into industrial electrification, additive manufacturing, and water conservation technologies.
