Range Resources Corporation Range Resources Corporation (NYSE:RRC) operates as an independent natural gas, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and oil company focused on the exploration, development, acquisition, and production of natural gas and oil properties primarily in the Appalachian Basin of the United States, including the prolific Marcellus Shale formation where it pioneered commercial development with the Renz No. 1 discovery well in 2004. The company produces and sells natural gas to utilities, marketing and midstream companies, industrial users, power generators, and LNG export facilities; NGLs, including ethane, propane, and butane, to petrochemical end users, marketers/traders, natural gas processors, refineries, and export markets; and oil to crude oil processors, transporters, refining, and marketing companies, with natural gas comprising approximately 68-69% of production volume, NGLs around 31%, and operations centered on approximately 70,000 net acres in Northeast Pennsylvania and 440,000 net acres in Southwest Pennsylvania supporting over 30 years of high-quality inventory. Founded in 1976 as Lomak Petroleum Inc. in Hartville, Ohio, and renamed Range Resources Corporation in 1998 after moving headquarters to Fort Worth, Texas, the company maintains a pure-play focus on its low-cost Appalachian assets following strategic divestitures and serves key markets across the northeastern United States through pipeline networks and regional energy infrastructure. In recent developments, Range Resources targets 20% production growth through 2027 with annual capital expenditures of $650-700 million, including $520-530 million for maintenance drilling and completions, while projecting cumulative free cash flow of $2.5 billion from 2025-2027 and maintaining a reinvestment rate below 50% at $3.75 NYMEX natural gas prices; the company repurchased $53 million in shares and paid $21 million in dividends in Q2 2025 alone, totaling $163 million in year-to-date shareholder returns, reduced net debt, and collaborates with Liberty Energy and Imperial Land Corporation on a new natural gas-powered facility in Washington County, Pennsylvania, to support data centers and industrial operations leveraging Marcellus gas's low-emissions profile.
