Business
First Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: THFF) is a financial holding company providing banking and related services through its subsidiary First Financial Bank, N.A., across west-central Indiana, east-central Illinois, western Kentucky, central and eastern Tennessee, and northern Georgia. The company offers non-interest-bearing demand, interest-bearing demand, savings, time, and other time deposits; commercial loans to support business expansion and asset purchases; residential real estate and construction loans; home equity loans and lines; secured, cash/CD-secured, and unsecured consumer loans; lease financing; trust account and depositor services; investment advisory, brokerage, and wealth management; and insurance services. Founded in 1834 as a branch of the Second State Bank of Indiana and headquartered in Terre Haute, Indiana, First Financial Corporation completed the acquisition of SimplyBank in July 2024, adding 13 branches and a loan production office in Tennessee and expanding into Georgia; it also announced in August 2025 an all-stock agreement to acquire BankFinancial Corporation for $142 million to strengthen its Chicago-area presence with 18 additional financial centers.
