Business
Trinity Industries, Inc. (NYSE: TRN) owns market-leading businesses that provide railcar products and services in North America under the trade name TrinityRail. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, and founded in 1933, the company operates through two principal segments: the Railcar Leasing and Services Group, which leases freight and tank railcars, originates and manages leases for third-party investors, and offers fleet management, maintenance, modification, and logistics services including transloading to customers in agriculture, energy, chemicals, construction, metals, and consumer products markets; and the Rail Products Group, which manufactures and sells tank cars for liquids and gases, covered hoppers, open hoppers, gondolas, flat cars, boxcars, autoracks, intermodal cars, and related components and parts such as tank heads. With a leasing fleet of approximately 110,000 railcars and management of additional railcars for partners, TrinityRail serves railroads, leasing companies, and industrial shippers across North America. In a recent strategic shift, the company reorganized its reporting structure effective January 1, 2024, to emphasize the Railcar Leasing and Services Group and Rail Products Group, enhancing focus on leasing supported by manufacturing capabilities. Most notably, Trinity increased its quarterly dividend to $0.31 per share in December 2025, marking the seventh consecutive year of raises and the 247th consecutive payment, while expanding services in maintenance, logistics, and OEM parts.
