Business
Arisawa Mfg. Co., Ltd. manufactures and sells electronic materials, display materials, electrical insulation materials, and industrial structural materials primarily in Japan, China, and internationally; its core offerings encompass flexible printed circuit (FPC) materials including polyimide (PI) films, photosensitive covers, copper-clad laminates, interlayer adhesive sheets, and PI composite/protection films; optical materials such as projection screens, UV nanoimprinting products, optical retardation elements, 3D display filters, and special optical components including film/glass lamination services; electrical insulation products comprising glass cloth, tapes, prepregs, glass cloth silicon rubber tapes, semi-conductive tapes, adhesive tapes, composite adhesive tapes, and resin-impregnated glass-cloth tapes; as well as industrial structural materials like glass/carbon fiber filament winding moldings, pultrusion products, compression molding products, aircraft honeycomb panels, prepregs, and cryogenic cooling vessels. The company, founded in 1909 and headquartered in Joetsu, Japan, operates through four main segments targeting electronics, optoelectronics, insulation, and structural applications for customers in information technology, telecommunications, aerospace, and industrial sectors. In May 2025, Arisawa agreed to acquire Arisawa Kenko Ltd. from the Arisawa family for approximately ¥930 million ($6.49 million), a transaction financed through internal funds and expected to complete in June 2025 subject to shareholder approval, marking its latest major strategic move amid ongoing expansions in flexible circuit production facilities and transitions to the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market in 2022.
