Business
Porsche Automobil Holding SE (Porsche SE) is a holding company that acquires, manages and disposes of investments primarily in mobility and industrial technology. The company maintains core investments including a 53.3% stake in the ordinary shares of Volkswagen AG, which encompasses ten automotive brands from five European countries such as Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Audi, SEAT, Skoda, Bentley, Lamborghini, Porsche AG, Ducati, Scania and MAN, and a 25% plus one share stake in the ordinary shares of Porsche AG; portfolio investments consist of minority shareholdings in technology companies across North America, Europe and Israel, as well as private equity and venture capital funds focused on high-growth opportunities in its sector priorities. Headquartered at Porscheplatz 1 in 70435 Stuttgart, Germany, Porsche SE operates as a European Company (Societas Europaea) with a lean organization of under 50 employees and conducts business on a global scale through its investee companies' worldwide presence. Founded in 1931 as Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche GmbH and transformed into its current SE structure in 2007 following an extraordinary general meeting, the company majority-owned by the Porsche-Piëch family emphasizes long-term value creation for shareholders via asset appreciation and dividends. In recent developments, Porsche SE optimized its financing structure in 2025 by refinancing financial liabilities with a new revolving credit facility supported by a bank syndicate, repaying a bank loan ahead of schedule and a 2023 Schuldschein tranche, placing a 1.5 billion euro Schuldschein loan, and renegotiating an undrawn revolving credit line; these measures reduced group net debt to 5.0 billion euro as of September 30, 2025, from 5.2 billion euro at year-end 2024, while confirming a robust outlook with an adjusted group result after tax projected between 0.9 billion and 2.9 billion euro for fiscal year 2025. Earlier, in 2022, Porsche SE financed the acquisition of its 25% plus one share stake in Porsche AG via debt capital of up to 7.9 billion euro in connection with Porsche AG's IPO.
